This contract, which spells out milestones for professional development and the work required for a Ph.D. from the Department of Anthropology for the Candidate whose name is listed above, represents an agreement between the Advisor, the Graduate Advisor, and the Candidate. In addition to the requirements and suggestions specified below, the Candidate is required to maintain a portfolio of professional work that includes at least the following items: a Curriculum Vitae reflecting current standing and experience, all papers prepared for courses, the results of all work performed for internships or other professional experiences, the Ph.D. dissertation proposal, and any papers presented at professional meetings or published in journals.

Student Objectives

 

1.       Earn the doctorate in Cultural Heritage Studies and Historical Anthropology as a means to further a career in CRM.

2.       Obtain a position with a CRM firm in the Western U.S., eventually to own my own CRM firm.

3.       Learn the skills of bidding for and managing contracts.

4.       Learn the relevant regulations governing CRM.

5.       Develop a deep knowledge of archaeology theory and methods.

6.       Develop the archaeological specialty of lithic analysis.

7.       Obtain experience in archaeological field methods, including directing a major survey or excavation project.

8.       Learn the skills of preparing and presenting conference papers and journal articles.
