Welcome to the Anthropology graduate program at The University of Montana - Missoula. We hope that your experience here will be both educational and enjoyable. To help you complete your degree as quickly and painlessly as possible, we have prepared the following information for you.

For additional information, please contact the Department of Anthropology, (406) 243-2693.

You should print a copy of our requirements checklist for the option you have chosen to pursue. You can use these checklists to see where you stand and to keep track of your progress.

To see what classes you should take in order to finish in two years look at our model schedules for the option and plan you have chosen to pursue.

Provisional Admission: We sometimes offer provisional admission to students who don't perfectly meet Graduate School and departmental requirements. In order to earn full admission, you must complete any requirements detailed in your letter of admission and maintain a 3.0 grad point average for a minimum of one semester. After this time you may petition the faculty for full admission by writing a short (less than one page) letter to the graduate advisor asking for full admission. The faculty will review your progress and vote on whether or not to offer full admission.
