NOTES
* A graduate seminar is any ANTH class numbered between 500 and 589, 595, or 600-694.
** Ph.D. Committee is normally three anthropology faculty. Dissertation committee is five
UM faculty, one of whom is from a department other than anthropology.
*** Your committee must consist of three University of Montana faculty.
Your committee chair must be in the Anthropology Department. One of your
three members must be from a department other than Anthropology. Give
your selections to the Anthropology Administrative Assistant, who will forward
them to the Grad School.
**** This procedure requires submission of a form to the Graduate School.
This procedure will have a deadline each semester. Please check the
current course schedule or contact the Graduate School to find out about
these deadlines.
@ Remedial classes: one class in each of the four subfields
(archaeology, linguistics, physical, socio-cultural) and a class in
statistics are required prior to graduation if not taken during your
undergraduate career.
$ This form requires a fee to be paid to the Graduate School. Be sure to save your
receipt.
