WEIST, Katherine M. (Retired)

Professor Weist is a social anthropologist who has conducted field research in Korea and Africa. She also conducted extensive research among the Native Americans of the northern Great Plains. Her research interests include anthropological theory, ethnohistory, development issues, and gender. She earned the Ph.D. in 1970 from the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Weist continues to conduct research on development and gender issues.
